Biographical Memory Interface for Home Assistance Robots

This application acts as a central server for the human-machine interactions, tasks completed, observations, and learning moments.

Main navigation elements include Journal Feed, Context Maps, Person Profiles, Location Memory, Statistics, and Settings. Additional navigation elements may extend to include preferences and patterns, and accuracy reports.

There is a specific interface tailored to each member of the server. The central server also embeds an operator view that the robot logs to. To maintain user privacy, the central server uses facial recognition or another type of biometric verification. The central server maintains a list of all memory entries.

Memory entries include the title of the memory, the time and date, immediate environment conditions such as temperature, humidity, color temperature, brightness level, particulate matter, and sound level. The entry includes tags of the person’s name, location, pattern (morning routine), and the specific element of the routine.

The memory entry also includes a text description of what occurred. The user of the specific entry has the ability to correct the entry, add content to the entry, or delete the entry. Additional content is posted beneath the primary memory entry. The interface sends a learning update message. If there is additional information contained within the additional content, a verification message communicates the the context is applied to the specific entry. For example, if the information is confidential and not to be shared with specific members of the server. Each user has the ability to select if the entirety of the entry is accurate or inaccurate.

There are multiple filters for navigating the memory entries. Filters include the ability to toggle robot’s learning, date rage, category, person, and accuracy rating. Date rate provides the ability to filter entries by “Today,” “This Week,” “This Month,” and “All Time.” The user also has the ability to set a specific time and date to filter memory entries. The category filter provides the ability to select “Human Interaction,” “Tasks Complete,” “Observations,” and “Learning Moments,” The accuracy rating filter provides the ability to select entries that are “User Verified,” “User Corrected,” and “Unverified.” There is also the ability to filter by member of the server. There is also the function to serve for specific memory entries.

There is also a content section on the interface for user preferences and patterns. There user has the ability to edit the preferences.

The core content areas feature memory entries. This includes the title of the entry, the user, user’s location, and the pattern and/or preferences. Time and date is also included within the content section. The user has the ability to correct specific entries, add additional context, and remove the entry. Changes made to the content area appears beneath the initial entry with a time stamp. The system acknowledges content changes. The user also has the ability to evaluate the accuracy of the entry. The user also has the ability to mark entries as confidential.
